Process Addictions

I’m embarrassed to even tell you this…

I’ve started and stopped so many times. My friends and family don’t want to hear about it anymore. I know I need help with this, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever find someone who understands what it feels like.

I’m afraid that I’ll lose my job, my relationship, or my children if I don’t change, but even saying it out loud feels overwhelming. I’ve never been able to break this habit, and I’m terrified that it will eventually destroy me. I feel like such a failure. I don’t know if I can ever change.

Addiction is not a moral failure.

Most of us figure out how to cope with the demands of our life using tools and resources that are readily available to us.

Maybe the tools around us were things that we found helpful for a time. But now those tools seem to cause more problems than solutions.

If this is the case for you, it may be time to consider a change. Let us help you figure out what resources you want to keep and which ones you want to change so that you can live a life of freedom.

Change is possible.

Behaviors make sense when we understand what they are trying to tell us.

At Layson Counseling Group, we treat a variety of compulsive behaviors and process addictions.

We utilize a variety of assessments that measure behaviors including substance abuse, sexual acting out, workaholism, spending/ gambling problems, and food issues.

We also evaluate clients for trauma that may be contributing to these behaviors. We want clients to understand their own patterns of behavior to reduce shame and judgment so that lasting change can occur.

Behavior does not equal worthiness. We can help make sense of these disruptive patterns so that you can be free to live a life you feel good about.
